Food Safety: Mount Mansfield Maple Products holds a 3rd party GMP Food Safety Certification that includes an annual review and inspection by external auditors.  Our food safety plan covers everything from changing light bulbs to sanitizing equipment to employee practices and hygiene and everything else that goes on within our food production facility, including allergen prevention.  This includes the vetting of suppliers of packaging and ingredients as well as employee training to ensure product safety and labeling compliance where applicable.

Wheat and Gluten: One of the owners of Mansfield Maple has recently been diagnosed with Celiac, so management of the company understands first-hand the challenges of finding foods that are safe for people who must avoid gluten. We have always been committed to gluten free production and decided to take the next step to test for gluten and attain certification. Mansfield Maple Products holds a certification from Gluten Free Food Program, Inc (GFFP) that certifies adherence to the standards of gluten free production endorsed by the National Celiac Association.  Mansfield Maple implements approved gluten free manufacturing standards resulting in no wheat, barley, rye and common oats, and their hybrids and derivatives in products processing and packaging.  For verification of these standards, we periodically test our products utilizing the Hygiena GlutenTox Pro test following protocols to 5 ppm.  All items on our site that are certified gluten free will contain a statement or badge within the listing stating that they are gluten-free.    Please note:  We market and sell a few products produced by other companies that are NOT certified gluten free, such as granola and tea.  These items are produced within other facilities and arrive on our dock retail packaged and ready for distribution.  We do not directly handle these products, and there is no risk of ingredient commingling.  If you have questions regarding these items please contact the respective manufacturer to learn whether they are suitable for you.

Nuts, Including Peanuts and Tree Nuts:  We do not produce any products that contain nuts, however our chocolate confections contain ingredients that were handled and processed in a facility that also handles nuts.  In our facility, we use dedicated equipment, tables and sinks for chocolate confection production.  Our pure maple products and infused and barrel aged maple products utilize dedicated nut-free equipment.  Employees are allowed to consume nuts and products containing nuts within our lunchroom, however procedures and protocols are in place to prevent commingling.  Due to the potential severity of peanut and tree nut allergies, you will need to evaluate this statement to determine if our products are suitable for you.

Milk and Dairy: Some of our chocolate confections have milk and/or dairy as an ingredient.  In our facility, we used edicated equipment, tables and sinks for chocolate confection production.  Our pure maple products and infused and barrel aged maple products utilize dedicated milk and dairy free equipment.

Soy: Some of our chocolate confections have soy as an ingredient.  In our facility, we use dedicated equipment, tables and sinks for chocolate confection production.  Our pure maple products and infused and barrel aged maple products utilize dedicated milk and dairy free equipment.

These statements are accurate to the best of our knowledge, however some of our products are partially produced or produced in other facilities.  The only allergen specific certification that we hold is for wheat and gluten.  If you have a severe allergy to these other items outlined above, do not use these statements solely to determine if our products are safe for you. Due to the potential severity of food allergies, if there is any doubt at all, we encourage you to contact us for clarification and/or more information.  Allergen information for each individual product can be found within allergen disclosures on the product listing.
